Moroccan rugs have been woven by the indigenous people of Morocco since the Paleolithic Era. Using traditional weaving methods these rugs are made out of necessity to add warmth to the rooms of Berber families in the snow-capped Atlas Mountains or flat weaves for the desert climate of the Sahara.
Moroccan rugs adorn the living rooms of the West for decorative purposes and are enjoying a surge of popularity across minimal and maximalist interiors.
I have been collecting my favourites on Pinterest and wanted to share them with you. With Etsy and so many internet entrepreneurs selling these beautiful works of art you don’t have to travel to Morocco to find one!
